U18 Sports Medicine
U18 Sports Medicine was developed to treat and help to prevent injuries in young athletes. The physician group includes fellowship-trained pediatric orthopedic surgeons from the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital. U18 treats upper- and lower-body injuries to areas such as:

- Diagnostic imaging by pediatric radiologists and technologists
- Anesthesia care by board-certified pediatric anesthesiologists

U18 also offers a Performing Arts and Dance Medicine Program. U18’s services extend into the community through athletic trainers in area high schools and presentations to coaches, parents and other community members interested in sports medicine.
Sports Rehabilitation
The comprehensive sports therapy team at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital meets the unique needs of the pediatric and adolescent population for sports injuries, rehabilitation and prevention. We provide one-on-one individualized care for 45 minutes with highly experienced physical therapists who have doctorate degrees in rehabilitation and many who have achieved certifications in orthopedics and/or sports. Our patients have our undivided attention, which allows for better outcomes, a better relationship with the patient, an open environment where care can be discussed, and supports our efforts to provide a safe setting for the athlete.
