About Me
I am a pediatric orthopedic surgeon at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, where I specialize in treating children with fractures, injuries and lower extremity conditions, such as turned-in feet, bowlegs and knock knees.
I’ve always known I wanted to work in medicine. After breaking two bones as a child, I experienced orthopedic care firsthand and that early exposure shaped my path. Today, I take great satisfaction in helping children heal and return to the activities they enjoy.
Before joining Memorial, I served as head of pediatric orthopedics at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center for more than 20 years. During my time there, I also led the medical staff and served as president of the Connecticut Children’s Specialty Group. Prior to that, I cared for patients at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, and served in the 403rd Combat Support Hospital during Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm.
Pediatrics means caring not only for the child, but for the whole family. I make it a priority to ensure parents have the guidance and information they need to support their child’s recovery. I enjoy learning about my patients — their lives, goals, and personalities — and offering care plans that work best for their individual needs.
In addition to clinical work, I’ve been involved in academic publishing for more than two decades, serving as a reviewer for national medical journals, including The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery and The Orthopaedic Knowledge Online Journal. I have also served as section editor for Medscape’s pediatric orthopedic surgery content.
