About Me

I am a pediatric orthopedic surgeon at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital with additional specialization in pediatric hand surgery. I care for children with hand and upper extremity conditions (both congenital and traumatic) as well as developmental hip dysplasia, neuromuscular conditions, fractures and clubfoot.

Before medicine, I was an elite competitive figure skater. I was fortunate to have doctors who understood how important skating was to me and helped me recover in ways that supported both my short- and long-term health. That experience stayed with me. Even though my path to orthopedics wasn’t a straight line, I knew I wanted to help children return to the activities that bring them joy, whether that’s sports, art or simply the freedom to move without pain.

After completing my orthopedic surgery residency at one of the top programs in the country, I pursued a fellowship in pediatric orthopedic surgery at Children’s Hospital Colorado, the only pediatric tertiary care center serving seven states. During that year, I performed more than 800 surgeries, from common injuries to complex deformity corrections. I developed a strong interest in caring for children with hand and upper extremity conditions. I stayed additional time to learn to care for children with congenital hand differences, upper extremity spasticity and traumatic injuries.

My favorite part of my job is building lasting relationships with patients and their families. I treat every child as I would want my own family member to be treated — with empathy, compassion and undivided attention.

My approach to care is also informed by several years of research and clinical work in child psychology, which deepened my understanding of how children experience illness and recovery. In addition to my clinical work, I’ve authored and presented numerous scientific articles related to pediatric orthopedics and hand surgery.
