About Me

As a pediatric infectious disease specialist at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, I care for children with a wide range of conditions, including bloodstream infections, bone and joint infections, complicated urinary tract infections, meningitis, encephalitis, severe pneumonia, fevers of unknown origin and congenital infections.

Working with children motivates me to be the best version of myself, both personally and professionally. Pediatrics, to me, is the tireless pursuit of making each child’s world a little better. There is nothing more meaningful than confronting the reality of illness while still finding ways to keep the magic of childhood alive. Infectious diseases drew me in because they connect the intricate details of the microscopic world to the bigger picture of a child’s health and life. I love that the work requires constant movement between close detail and broader perspective, always keeping the patient and their family at the center.

I value the time I spend counseling and educating families about infectious diseases and prevention. My approach to care is thorough and intentional, rooted in open dialogue. When parents meet me for the first time, I want them to feel they are entering into a partnership — one focused on understanding their child’s condition, answering questions and creating a plan that keeps their child safe and as comfortable as possible.

Beyond patient care, I remain engaged in research and academic discussions around vaccines and vaccine acceptance. I also enjoy quality improvement projects in antimicrobial and diagnostic stewardship, as well as infection prevention and control in hospital settings. These efforts allow me to contribute not only to my patients today but also to the broader advancement of pediatric infectious disease care.
