About Me
I am a pediatric cardiologist at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital. I care for infants, children and young adults with congenital and acquired heart disease. I specialize in caring for those with advanced heart failure, heart transplantation and ventricular assist devices (VADs). I also frequently manage children with single-ventricle physiology, cardiomyopathies, transplant rejection and those who need advanced therapies such as mechanical circulatory support.
I became a doctor to make a meaningful difference during some of the most critical moments in a family’s life. Pediatric cardiology captured my heart because it blends precision and innovation with deeply human connections. During my advanced training, I was especially inspired by children with severe heart failure whose only options were transplantation or mechanical support. Helping these patients stabilize, recover and ultimately thrive strengthened my commitment to this specialty.
My approach to care is rooted in honesty, empathy and collaboration. I take time to clearly explain each child’s diagnosis and treatment options so families feel informed and empowered. I listen closely to parents’ concerns and work with them as true partners in determining the best path forward. From the very first visit, families can expect to feel heard, supported and fully included in their child’s care.
The most rewarding part of my work is giving children and families a renewed sense of hope when they need it most. Watching a child recover, stabilize on a VAD, or flourish after a heart transplant—and seeing families move from fear to confidence—is an extraordinary privilege that continues to inspire me every day.

Research
I am actively engaged in clinical research to advance care and outcomes for children with complex heart disease. My work focuses on optimizing pediatric ventricular assist device (VAD) management, including developing evidence-based antiplatelet protocols for paracorporeal VADs to reduce stroke risk. I also focus on supporting patients with Duchenne muscular dystrophy as a bridge to transplant, refining VAD strategies for single-ventricle physiology, and improving transplant outcomes in highly sensitized pediatric patients. Through my research, I strive to translate innovative strategies into meaningful improvements in survival and quality of life for children with advanced heart disease.
