About Me

I am an allergist and immunologist at Memorial Healthcare System and Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital. I help patients of all ages manage allergies, asthma and immunologic disorders. My expertise is in drug allergy, but I am also interested in food allergies, seasonal allergies, urticaria and angioedema, primary immune deficiency, eosinophilic esophagitis and contact dermatitis.

I was inspired to become a doctor thanks to the influence of my dad and siblings. I always heard them talking about how rewarding it is to heal other people and the adventure of facing new cases every day in the medical field. I originally became interested in allergy/immunology during my residency in internal medicine. I discovered that it is a unique field where I could handle different age groups and different conditions, from the most common allergies to the most complex immunodeficiency. The field also combines rheumatology, pulmonary medicine, gastroenterology and genetics.

As an allergist and immunologist, I enjoy getting to know my patients extensively, understanding their ailments and helping them find solutions, comfort, better health and a better quality of life. It’s fascinating and rewarding to see how my patients respond to treatment and change their lifestyles in a positive way.

I strongly believe that patient education is the most important part of my job. Patients need to understand their medical conditions and how those conditions can affect their overall health. My patients are always part of the decision-making process, and I make sure I spend enough time with them so they can understand their diagnosis and treatment plan.

During my training, I also participated in research on contact dermatitis secondary to Dermabond, which is a sterile topical adhesive used for wound closure and is a frequent cause of post-surgical allergic contact dermatitis.
