Changing habits for your family can be hard, but a good way to ease into healthy habits is by perfecting your approach. If you make it fun, make it easy, make it interactive and make unhealthy choices harder, it can make a big difference in how your family responds. Supercharge your resolutions with these super habit building tips.

Make It Fun

When you make exercise a party, everyone will want to be invited! Make moving fun and your kids will want to join. Get back to the spirit of play for more joyful movements throughout your day. When exercise is less of a chore, it’s less of a bore. Have fun with it!

Make It Easy

Eating healthy doesn’t have to be a tough nut to crack. Leave fruit and veggies on the counter to make healthy eating more accessible. You shouldn’t have to think twice about eating something nice! Healthy food that’s close at hand is easier to get into your mouth.

Make it Interactive

Many hands make light work (and make mealtimes work too!) Involve the whole family in creating meals so all the prep isn’t on your plate. Put the meal in a fun container, prepare meals together, and let your kids help plan meals. When you make kids part of healthy choices, those choices are more likely to stay part of their life.

Make Unhealthy Choices Harder

When you make unhealthy habits harder, you make healthy choices easier. Take the gaming console out of the playroom after an hour. Put less nutritious snacks out of reach or don't buy them. Instead of buying three containers of juice per week, buy one and encourage water.
