Dr. Edward Bove, cardiac surgeon at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital and chair of the Department of Cardiac Surgery at University of Michigan Health System, is an internationally acclaimed, board-certified pediatric cardiac and thoracic surgeon. He has joined the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Heart Institute to work collaboratively with its team of cardiac specialists while continuing on at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital and the University of Michigan Health System. 

Dr. Bove earned his medical degree from Albany Medical College in Albany, New York, in 1972, and completed his internship and residencies at University of Michigan Hospitals. He has served as a professor of surgery at leading educational institutions including the State University of New York, the University of Michigan Medical Center, the Medical College of Ohio, and the University of Michigan School of Medicine. Dr. Bove has served as a consultant for numerous healthcare providers, such as Crouse-Irving Memorial Hospital in Syracuse, the Veterans Administration Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan, C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital at the University of Michigan Medical Center, and the Edith Wolfson Medical Center in Tel Aviv.
