Frequently Asked Questions
Why would my child need to see a pediatric cardiologist?
Your child's pediatrician will refer them to a pediatric cardiologist in order to diagnose and treat a heart condition they may have. Our pediatric cardiologists work closely with our entire team of pediatric heart specialists, including surgeons and congenital heart and imaging specialists, to determine the best care for your child.
What pediatric heart conditions do you treat?
Whether your child has been recently diagnosed or is living with a congenital heart condition, we offer specialized care and compassionate support to the entire family. Heart conditions we care for include:
- Arrhythmias
- Congenital heart disease or abnormality
- Heart murmurs – extra or abnormal sounds made by blood flowing through the heart
- High blood pressure – when the force of blood on the blood vessel walls is too high
- Syncope – a temporary loss of consciousness (fainting)
- Heart palpitations – when the heart skips a beat or is beating faster than usual at rest
