Emergency Transport Needs
Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital has a dedicated, multifaceted
Emergency Transport Program that provides prompt, safe medical
transfer of children to help ensure patients get the care they need as quickly as possible.
Each member of the Transport Team is certified in pediatric advanced life support and advanced cardiac life support, and each is highly experienced in emergency pediatric care.
The multifaceted Emergency Transport Program includes a dedicated Ground Transport Team, which provides safe medical transfer from area hospitals; an Emergency Helicopter Transport Service, which brings critically ill children from healthcare facilities as far away as Central Florida and the Keys; and an Air Transport Team, which uses a special Learjet to fly patients from locations around the world.
