Bio
Dr. Ostrower is board certified in Otolaryngology — Head & Neck Surgery with subspecialty fellowship training in Pediatric Otolaryngology. He completed his bachelor’s degree in Biology at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, where he graduated Cum Laude. Subsequently, he received his MD from Texas Tech University School of Medicine where he earned membership into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor medical society. Dr. Ostrower completed his Otolaryngology — Head & Neck Surgery residency at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City. He was chosen to be Chief Resident in Otolaryngology — Head & Neck Surgery for the Albert Einstein residency program, and was subsequently awarded with the resident teaching award in his final year of residency. He then completed a one year fellowship in Pediatric Otolaryngology at Children’s Hospital Boston — Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. Following a clinical appointment at Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital, he moved to South Florida to develop a comprehensive Pediatric Otolaryngology program at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Ostrower is a member of numerous professional societies, including the American Academy of Otolaryngology — Head & Neck Surgery, American Medical Association, and Alpha Omega Alpha, the medical honor society. He has published numerous journal articles and book chapters and has conducted award winning research on the genetic effects of secondhand smoke on tonsil tissue in children.
Dr. Ostrower’s clinical interests span the breadth of Pediatric Otolaryngology, but include particular expertise in minimally invasive pediatric airway surgery, cochlear implantation, and novel techniques in tonsillectomy.
