Bio
Alex Constantinescu, MD, is the medical director of the Pediatric Nephrology and Hypertension Program, which guides children and their families through the diagnosis and therapy of various kidney diseases, as well as providing dialysis for children in renal failure, until a transplant is available.
He is a graduate of the “Victor Babes” University of Medicine in Timisoara, Romania. After completing internships and residencies at hospitals in Romania and New York, he was a fellow in pediatric nephrology at Montefiore Medical Center / Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. Subsequently, he followed an academic career at UMDNJ/ Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, in New Brunswick, New Jersey, where he became an associate professor of pediatrics and medical director of the pediatric transplant nephrology program. He published numerous original research papers, as well as review articles in peer-review journals, along with book chapters.
Dr. Constantinescu is currently a clinical associate professor at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and Nova Southeastern University. He is board certified in pediatric nephrology. He is listed in Best Doctors in America and Who’s Who in Healthcare, and is a member of the American Society of Pediatric Nephrology, American Society of Hypertension and American Society of Nephrology. He remains active in teaching and research, though his main interests now are in the area of clinical nephrology.

Dr. Constantinescu is a member of the International Pediatric Nephrology Association; the American Society of Nephrology; the American Society of Pediatric Nephrology; the Membership Committee of ASPN; the Florida Society of Nephrology; the American Society of Hypertension; and the AHA Council for High Blood Pressure Research.
