Pediatric Cancer Program
Michael Bretz has a passion for basketball, a talent for cooking and an unending love for talking. When he isn't shooting hoops on the court or whipping up a new version of chicken cordon bleu, Michael is talking to other kids about cancer.
Diagnosed with cancer of the lymph nodes, Michael underwent aggressive cancer treatment for several years at Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital. "They were wonderful to me" the doctors and nurses always understood what I was going through," says Michael. "I hope that I can help other kids going through the same thing."
Today, Michael shows no sign of cancer, and volunteers helping other children with cancer.
