The Division of Pediatric Endocrinology
About Us
The Division of Pediatric Endocrinology at Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital consists of board-certified pediatric endocrinologists, as well nurse practitioners, registered nurse-certified diabetes educators, registered nurses, social workers and medical assistants. Our team members work together in the effort to provide the best care possible for your child. This world-class facility is the only provider in the state of Florida recognized for pediatric diabetic care by the American Diabetes Association.
We also work closely in conjunction with our comprehensive Diabetes Center at Memorial Regional Hospital / Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital where the multidisciplinary team of nurses and nutritionists all are certified diabetes educators. They provide outstanding inpatient and outpatient care to patients with diabetes and are also recognized by the American Diabetes Association.
Recognizing the Role of Family
We complement our medical expertise with a patient- and family-centered care philosophy. Since family members are the patient's primary source of emotional support, we provide extensive information and education so they may have a greater understanding of their loved one's condition, and how they can help during treatment. Each family is directed to local and national support resources to help with coping skills, financial assistance, and quality of life.
Our division partners with many community organizations, including:
- American Diabetes Association
- Diabetes Research Institute
- Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation
- Boggy Creek Camp
