Heart Transplantation
Heart transplantation may be recommended for infants and children with end stage heart dysfunction due to a birth defect in the heart or severe cardiomyopathy. The heart transplant team at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital has more than 50 years of experience in the care and management of heart transplant patients. The Cardiac Center at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital is the only children’s hospital in Broward and Palm Beach counties that provides pediatric cardiac transplantation.
