Care for Adolescents and Adults with Congenital Heart Defects
Congenital cardiac care requires highly specialized physicians and staff who understand the structure of a heart with congenital defects. As children with congenital heart defects grow to adolescence and adulthood, it is important that their cardiac care continue to be overseen by congenital specialists.
The Cardiac Center has partnered with the Memorial Cardiac and Vascular Institute to develop the Memorial Adult Congenital Heart Center. You will find that the Memorial Adult Congenital Heart Center provides a comprehensive program involving diagnosis, treatment and management, as well as social and psychological support for ACHD patients and their families. Care is coordinated with the patient's primary physician and referrals to all necessary sub-specialists are available for consultation of non-cardiac related concerns.
