To help ensure world-class healthcare is available for families and children for generations to come, we have embarked on an extensive expansion project.

Renovation and expansion of the Wasie Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) was completed in the fall of 2009. This addition includes 23 all-private rooms and an upgraded technology system. The NICU provides Level II and Level III care for the tiniest and most critically ill newborns.

Construction is under way on the new four-story Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital, which is expected to open in late 2011. It will be connected to the existing children's hospital facilities and Memorial Regional Hospital via an elevated walkway. Upon completion of these projects, Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital will have 204 licensed beds.
