Pediatric Heart Surgery
A cheerleader, dancer, and student, no
one would believe Olivia underwent successful open heart surgery. The Bells, who reside in West Palm Beach, were referred to Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital by their cardiologist, Dr. Harry Bayron. No other children's hospital in South Florida has the experience and skill of the renowned cardiac surgery team at Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital. The surgeons performed a new procedure that didn't require that the breast bone be cut open as in traditional open heart surgery.
Today Olivia has a scar that is barely noticeable, thanks to this new, less-invasive technique. "I was very impressed with the medical staff," said Olivia's father. "We are really blessed," said her mother. "Olivia has flourished since the operation."
