her fifth birthday, Erica got a surprise that no parent would ever wish for

her child: a diagnosis of bone cancer.
Today, 9-year-old Erica is cancer-free, thanks to the advanced care she received from Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital. For a little girl who was once afraid of vaccinations, Erica’s courage in fighting cancer was nothing short of triumphant. With the help of caring physicians, nurses and support professionals, Erica and her family were able to put cancer behind them and look to a brighter future.
