Pediatric Heart Surgery
Brian's parents were prepared to go anywhere in the world to get the open heart surgery their son needed to live a normal life. They didn't need to go any further than their hometown of Hollywood, Florida, home to Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital.
The family chose the Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital for its nationally renowned cardiac surgeons and superior care. Few other children's hospitals have the experience and skill of this distinguished cardiac surgery team. Four days before his third birthday, Brian underwent successful open heart surgery to repair the dime-size hole in his heart.
"We wanted the best for Brian," said Brian's dad. "Not only did he have the finest medical treatment," added his mother, "Brian received all the love and comfort children need. They made something very difficult a whole lot easier."
Today Brian is back to riding bikes, climbing trees and playing in his backyard.
